Our Story
State Fuel Company Inc. was established in 1935 by Angelo Scarpulla and Louis DiPonzio who operated two trucks in downtown Rochester. In 1973, Ange’s son, Robert (Bob) took over the company and expanded. Throughout the 80's and 90’s, State Fuel acquired several other local fuel companies including A-1 Fuels, which was then owned and operated by Bob’s wife, Joanne. Throughout it’s history, the company has been run and operated by family and friends looking to provide the best customer service for their customers.
Now in its third generation of ownership, State Fuel is the oldest oil company in the Rochester area – serving the community for over 80 years. Today, State Fuel and A-1 Fuels are run by Bob’s daughter, Tammi Weis, along with her husband, Scott. 84 years later, State Fuel is still operated by family and friends who are more committed than ever to providing honest and fair service to all of their customers.
